The Nigerian police force has dismissed Daniel Ojo, its personnel who fatally shot Adaobi Ifeanyi and severely injured Emmanuel Akomafuwa in the Ajegunle area of Lagos state. This was made known by the Lagos commissioner of police, Zubairu Muazu, while addressing journalists at the command headquarters, Ikeja, on Thursday.
The suspect had opened fire and killed 20-year-old Ada while injuring her boyfriend, Emmanuel after an argument on April 13th — Ojo, who as with five other police officers, immediately escaped from the scene — but the other policemen were subjected to orderly room trial while.

“On April 13, 2019, at about 7:00 am, police officers attached to Trinity Police Station who were suspected to be involved in the shooting of Adaobi Ifeanyi and Emmanuel Akomafuwa at Akpiri Street, Olodi Apapa, were arrested and detained,” he said.
Muazu gave their names as Adamu Usman, an inspector; Adeyeye Adeoye, a sergeant; Kashim Tijani, a sergeant; Lucky Akigbe, a sergeant; and Paul Adeoye, also a sergeant.
“Inspector Dania Ojo who escaped immediately after the shooting was declared wanted. The other police officers were subjected to internal disciplinary proceedings at the command headquarters Ikeja.
“Investigation revealed that Inspector Dania Ojo unilaterally carried out the shooting without consideration to laid down procedures on the use of firearm.
“He is, therefore, found guilty of abuse of power, unlawful and unnecessary exercise of authority. “He is hereby dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force and declared wanted. Upon arrest, he will be charged to court for murder.”
