He had been ineligible for a transfer due to FIFA regulations on signing youth players from other countries.

The impending transfer was recently concluded because he turned 18 this month and the midfielder posted a picture of himself holding an Arsenal shirt with his name on the back.

The teenager also posted a picture of himself with Wenger.

He then changed his bio on the social-networking site to “Footballer for Arsenal FC and Nigeria U20”.

He also wrote, “New life begins at Arsenal“.

Nwakali is Arsenal’s second signing after Granit Xhaka.
