Watch Gbinije’s One-Handed Dunk as D’Tigers’ Lose to Tunisia

Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball national team, D’Tigers, suffered a 70-59 defeat at the hands of hosts and defending champions, Tunisia, in their third match of the 2015 Afrobasket on Sunday.

Playing in front of a partisan crowd in Rades, Nigeria could not repeat their historic win over the same opponent at the 2012 London Olympic Games, but did not just chicken out on the big stage as they fought hard throughout the encounter.

Ben Uzoh was D’Tigers’ star man with 13 point but Michael Gbinije came up with the highlight of the day, ending the game with ten points – two of those off a tremendous dunk on fan’s favourite Salah Mejri in the third quarter.

Mejri made 22 points and 7 rebounds for Tunisia, while Michael Brandon Roll added another 13 points.

As a result of the win, Tunisia finishes the group stages as Group A winners, followed by Nigeria, Central African Republic and Uganda.
