The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC, is far from over as a member of the Unity Forum of the Senate and member representing Kaduna North Senatorial District, Suleiman Hunkuyi, has vowed that they would not allow the alleged impunity perpetrated by Senate President Bukola Saraki and his supporters on the June 9 when the 8th National Assembly was inaugurated to stand.

Hunkuyi, who made this known in a chat with Daily Trust in Abuja yesterday, insisted that the events of June 9, which saw to Saraki’s emergence as President of the 8th Senate could not stand because they were against the Senate Standing Order.

The former Kaduna Finance Commissioner said that the Unity Forum would stop at nothing to see that the law was respected.

According to Hunkuyi, Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu’s elections as Senate President and Deputy respectively were conducted using a “forged” Senate Standing Order of 2015, “whereas there was no time that the Senate Standing Order of 2011 was amended”.

“The leaders of the Senate and the bureaucracy in the National Assembly should be held responsible for this. How and when did they come up with the 2015 Standing Order? Nobody knew when it was amended, because there is a laid down procedure for the amendment of Senate Standing Order, but was that followed? No, there was nothing like. So, it won’t stand, no matter how long”, he said.
