Jonathan Approves Sanusi’s Appointment As Supreme Court Justice

Even as his administration approaches its end in less than three weeks, President Goodluck Jonathan has not abandoned his constitutional responsibilities as he, today, approved the appointment of Justice Amiru Sanusi as a Justice of the Supreme Court. 

 

Justice Sanusi’s elevation followed the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC) to the president as the constitution requires, Vanguard reports.

According to a press statement issued yesterday by the Acting ‎Director of Information at the NJC, Mr. Soji Oye, the new apex court Justice will be sworn in on Thursday by the Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman of the‎ NJC, Justice Mahmud Mohammed.

Meanwhile, Madam Eunice Jonathan the mother of  President Jonathan has moved into their family home in Otuoke, Bayelsa state as part of the ongoing plan to move out of the presidential villa ahead of May 29.

Jonathan , who is billed to leave office on the 29th of May 2015, has reportedly caused a rif between two popular entertainers in the country over his  failed ambition to win a re-election in the last presidential polls.

Speaking on the president recently, former Minister of Police Affairs, Broderick Bozimo, has described the outgoing president as a hero saying ,Nigerians will value the outgoing president later for his love and sacrifice for the country.

 

Jonathan, hosted his last National Council of State meeting today, as his erstwhile political godfather, General Olusegun Obasanjo showed up at the last hour in today’s meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
