Super Eagles Set Out For Nelspruit Before Midnight

Delegations of the Nigeria senior national team, the Super Eagles, will head for South Africa from Uyo, Akwa Ibom before midnight on Friday, officials have confirmed.

The Eagles are scheduled to face Bafana Bafana in an international friendly match at the Mbombela stadium, Nelspruit on Sunday afternoon.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will provide a chartered ARIK aircraft to fly the players, officials and head of delegation, Chairman of Technical Development Committee, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, from the Ibom International Airport, Uyo, directly to Nelspruit.

NFF Deputy General Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, will also be on the flight to South Africa.

The friendly match, which is aimed to serve as a build up to the qualifying matches for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon), starts at 4pm local time (3pm Nigeria time).

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has returned to his club base in France to continue recuperation from a back-ache.

The 100-cap Nigeria international has been excused from the clash with South Africa and replaced by Warri Wolves’ Daniel Akpeyi.
