Super Eagles midfielder Rabiu Ali netted a hat-trick as Glo Premier League champions Kano Pillars fought back from a goal down to beat Enugu Rangers 3-2 on Wednesday.
Pillars retained the league poll position courtesy of the win at their Kano Stadium, and now have 40 points from 23 matches.
The Flying Antelopes opened scoring in the 10th minute through Christian Obiozor, but Ali equalised from the penalty spot 6 minutes to the break, after Adamu Hassan was fouled in the goal area.
Leading Nigeria league goal-scorer Osaguona Oghodaro scored his 13th goal of the season to restore the visitors’ lead.
Ali completed his brace to restore parity as both sides went into the break leveled 2-2 on the score sheet.
The playmaker grabbed his third goal of the day- his eleventh of the season- with just 9 minutes left to the dead from another spot-kick after Adamu Hassan was brought down in the box by defender Pape Ousmane Sane.
Elsewhere, there were home wins for troubled Kaduna United, Gombe United and Nembe City.
