Glo Premier League Resumes July 18- Report

The Glo Premier League is expected to resume on July 18 after a World Cup break.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will go ahead with the continuation of its second round matches, despite the impasse involving the Nigeria Football Federation.

A top source has disclosed to AfricanFootball.com that the vexed issue between the country’s football family and the government does not involve the league directly.

Defending champions Kano Pillars lead the standings with 31 points from 19 matches, while Nasarawa United (31 points), Abia Warriors (30) and Sharks (30) trail respectively.

Nembe City, Gombe United, Kaduna United and Crown FC are the teams in the drop zone at present.

The league champions and runners-up will represent Nigeria at next year’s CAF Champions League.
