Norwich City have named caretaker manager Neil Adams manager on a permanent basis.
The former Under-18 Academy coach, who succeeded Chris Hughton in April, has signed a three-year deal with the Canaries.
Adams took charge of Norwich for the last five games of the season, but failed to prevent the club from relegation to the Championship.
“It is a huge honour and I am immensely proud,” said Adam.
“Works starts straight away on putting into place the necessary requirements for next season.
As caretaker boss, he failed to turn around results, overseeing four defeats and one goalless draw, against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The 48-year-old joined the club from Odhalm Athletic in February 1994 and went on to make 206 appearances for the Canaries, scoring 30 goals. He rejoined Odhalm before returning to Carrow Road initially as coach of the Norwich’s Academy Under-14s side.
He led the Under-18s to FA Youth Cup victory in 2013, beating Chelsea over two legs of the final.
“He is a very talented coach who is hungry to succeed, playing the kind of football we want to see,” Norwich chief executive David McNally, said.
