Bayern Munich clinched their 24th Bundesliga title at Hertha Berlin with a record seven game to spare on Tuesday night.

Midfielder Toni Kroos set the tone of the encounter when he finished from 14 yards after Thoomas Muller’s cross.

Adrian Ramos managed to reduce the hosts deficit from the penalty spot on 66 minutes but Franck Ribery restored the two-goal cushion to spark wild celebrations among the traveling fans.

Pep Guardiola, who has again reached another height in his first season with Bayern, celebrated with his players at the Olympic Stadium after the 3-1 win.

Having secured the third piece of silverware of his short reign to go with the Uefa Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup, Guardiola can now focus on clinching the European league.

“I am pleased we’ve done it. Another trophy for this club is important,” said the Spanish boss.

“We’ll eat and celebrate together because when you have a little time to spare you ought to enjoy it.

“Many, many thanks to the club for the opportunity to be here and coach these outstanding players.

“We played really well for 30 minutes, we were dynamic but kept it simple and used the whole of the pitch.

“We controlled the game but forgot to attack at times.”

It is Bayern’s 52nd successive league game without defeat, and a record 10 away win, which puts an end to the previous record set by them.

They clinched last season’s title (on their way to winning a treble including the German Cup and Champions League) with six games to spare.

Up next for the reigning Europpean champions is a trip to Old Trafford, where they face struggling Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Tuesday.
