A governorship aspirant in Ekiti State under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, on Monday described the visit of a high-powered delegation of the All Progressives Congress to former President Olusegun Obasanjo as further proof of the party’s “shameless hypocrisy and desperation” for power.
National leaders of the APC had met with the former president at his Hilltop mansion in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital on Saturday where they held talks on state of the nation.
Adeyeye, in reaction to the visit, said, “By going to woo former President Obasanjo, a man they had called several unprintable names to come and join their party, the APC leaders have further demonstrated that they lack clear-cut ideology and are only interested in taking over governance in Nigeria for their selfish gains”.
He recalled that “In 1983, Major-Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (retd) truncated democracy in Nigeria and went on to jail several politicians, including the National Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, with ridiculous jail terms of 25, 50, 100, 150 and 200 years.
“If today, Buhari, who jailed Baba Bisi Akande and other second republic politicians from the Southern part of Nigeria for no just cause is now addressed as a progressive because he joined APC, even that notorious armed robber, Shina Rambo, would have become a progressive by simply joining the APC if he was still alive.
“Nigerians should be reminded of how former Lagos State Governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, described Chief Obasanjo on December 8, 2011”, Adeyeye stated.
Apc a party with no idealogy.it a pity this is not the kind of opposition party we need in Nigeria.APC.Association of past criminals.
We need opposition party to beat PDP but it is certainly not APC, not the likes of Tinubu and Buhari. All these gang of Boko haram faithfuls cannot inherit Aso Rock, the God I serve will not allow it to happen. It takes volunteer criminals no stress to fight crime,because they know very well the anatomy of crime. APC for any reasonable Nigerian this opposition only expedient but necessary for national integration and democratic development. Buhari might be seen things differently now even Obasanjo and others.since we have people who change their faith. So is not impossible to change political ideology., we welcome Obasanjo to the train of progressive.
