Women Rally: First Lady Visits Members Of Lagos Party Involved In Accident In Hospital

Patience-Jonathan-400x400Some five women on Friday expressed appreciation to the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, for her prompt response after receiving news of their involvement in an accident.

The women expressed their gratitude when Mrs Jonathan paid a visit to the Primus International Hospital, Abuja, where they were receiving treatment.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the women were involved in a motor accident while returning to Lagos after attending the Nigerian Women for Peace and Empowerment rally on Aug. 16 in Abuja.

Mrs Bose Kabiyawu, who spoke on behalf of the women, said, “we thank you for the prompt response and motherly care you showed when you heard of this unfortunate incidence; God bless you.”

The women also expressed their appreciation to the President, National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Mrs Nkechi Mba, who accompanied the First Lady on the visit, for her frequent visits to seek their welfare.

Similarly, they thanked the National Coordinator, Women for Change and Development Initiative, Rabi Ibrahim, who also accompanied Mrs Jonathan, for her support and visits to them.

Speaking to the women, the First Lady said that as soon as she learnt of the accident, she instructed the women to be transferred to Primus International Hospital, Karu, for good medical attention.

She, however, expressed appreciation to the medical personnel of the hospital for the quality of healthcare provided for the women so far, urging them not to relent in their efforts.

She further enjoined the hospital’s management team to ensure that the women did not lack anything that would make them comfortable to facilitate their speedy recovery.

Dr Nilesh Vishwakarma, a medical personnel at the Primus Hospital, said that all the women were responding well to treatment.

Vishwakarma, therefore, expressed optimism that the women would recover fully and would soon be discharged from the hospital. (NAN)
