Amnesty: We are ready to dialogue on the condition that… – Boko Haram

splinter boko haramMembers of the dreaded Boko Haram sect, through one of their leaders, Muhammad Marwan, have said that if the Federal Government would not blackmail or deceive them as was done in the past, they will be ready to avail themselves for dialogue as was initiated by the Northern Elders Forum.

Marwan spoke in an interview with the Hausa Service of the Voice of America (VOA) monitored in Kaduna on Tuesday. He said that he was speaking on behalf of members of Jamatul Ahlus Sunnati lil Daawati wal Jihad, otherwise known as Boko Haram, on the call by Northern Elders Forum for amnesty for the sect members.

According to him, “We thank Allah, we will extend our hands for dialogue to the northern elders just as was done before under my leadership. But if they come there shouldn’t be any deceit in it as was experienced in the past,” he said.

Meanwhile, Marwan said they were yet to be contacted on the issue of amnesty. But he however agreed that dialogue was the most important thing in settling matters between aggrieved parties and hoped that a genuine and sincere discussion would eventually lead to amicable resolution of the dispute: “My hope is this, everyday, it is the government that is seeking for this, on matters pertaining to everyday life, we thank Allah our hope is that there shouldn’t be any deceit, let them come for it. This dialogue is the most important, it is what people want, anytime the issue of dialogue comes in, it is what people are looking for to settle matters between two warring factions.”

  2. Final justice on day of judgement.

    The Glorious Qur’an says:
“Every soul shall have a taste of death: and only on the Day of
Judgement shall you be paid your full recompense. Only he who is
saved far from the Fire and admitted to the Garden will have attained
the object (of life): for the life of this world is but goods and chattels of
    deception.”
    [Al-Qur’an 3:185]
Final justice will be meted out on the Day of Judgement. After a person dies, he
will be resurrected on the Day of Judgement along with the rest of mankind. It
is possible that a person receives part of his punishment in this world. The final
reward and punishment will only be in the hereafter. God Almighty may not
punish those who are killing innocent Nigerians or robber or a rapist in this world but he will surely be held accountable
on the Day of Judgement and will be punished in the hereafter i.e. life after
    death.

  3. Every human being wants justice
Each and every human being desires justice. Even if he does not want justice
for others he wants justice for himself. Some people are intoxicated by power
and influence and inflict pain and suffering on others. The same people,
however, would surely object if some injustice was done to them. The reason
such people become insensitive to the suffering of others is that they worship
power and influence. Power and influence, they feel, not only allows them to
inflict injustice on others but also prevents others from doing likewise to them.
