West Brom To Deal With Latest Odemwingie Twitter Outburst Internally

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed they are aware of Peter Odemwingie’s latest Twitter outburst but insist they will deal with the matter internally.

The forward’s relationship with West Brom has been severed since he tried to force through a move to Queen Park Rangers on the final day of the January transfer window. He had already travelled to the London club hoping a deal would happen in the final minutes of January 31, only to be told he didn’t have the club’s permission to commence talks.

Odemwingie has since claimed that West Brom are “trying to ruin my career” after being mainly named as a substitute for Steve Clarke’s side. Despite promptly deleting the majority of the tweets from his account, the club have acknowledged the forward’s latest outburst will be dealt with.

“The club are aware of what Peter has said and we will deal with it internally,” a West Brom spokesperson said.

Shane Long and on-loan Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku have been favoured as starters over the Nigerian by the Baggies this season, but the 31-year-old has blasted the way he has been treated by West Brom following the incident on deadline day.

“New advisers told me to take say it’s all my fault cos its better for me. Keeping me on the bench now is worse than what they did on the 31st,” he posted on Twitter.

“Drive was lunacy? Missing in the training section that day also lunacy? They forgot to complain about that though cos they knew were I was.

“Things have almost got back to normal till Peter spoilt it again. What’s normal? We see things differently obviously.”

Odemwingie missed becoming part of his country’s wonderful feat at the January African Cup of Natios, AFCON, after being dropped by the Super Eagles’ coach Stephen Keshi. His first point of call to express his feeling was Twitter and he took rounds insulting the officials of his country’s football body and some ex-internationals who tried to call him to order.

Stephen Keshi told Super Sports after winning the tournament for Nigeria that Odemwingie was dropped because he felt he was bigger than the country.
