Atiku Makes Pledge Of Lecture Theatre, Bus To UI

Atiku AbubakarFormer Vice President Atiku Abubakar has pledged to build a lecture theater for University of Ibadan, a statement by his media office said yesterday.

Atiku will build the 200-seater lecture theatre is for the Department of Political Science of the varsity. This followed a request by the university made to the former VP, the statement said.

The facility to be named “Atiku Abubakar Lecture Theatre” is to be built at the new campus of the varsity at Ajibode.

Atiku also agreed to donate a bus and renovate the faculty’s theater as requested by the varsity’s acting Vice Chancellor Professor Idowu Olayinka and the Social Sciences dean, Professor A. Yagboyaju respectively.

He invited the university to accept an invitation for exchange programme with the American University of Nigeria, Yola which he founded.

Information Nigeria reports that the Turaki Adamawa was a guest lecturer at a lecture titled, “Thoughts on internal democracy in Nigerian political parties: Challenges and strategies” organised by the Department of Political Science, University of Ibadan to mark the department’s 50th anniversary.
