The police in Kano state have confirmed the death of one suspected terrorist. This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Magaji Musa Majiya who also said two others were arrested following a gun battle at Minjibir Local Government’s divisional police headquarters.
Narrating how the incident took place, Mr. Majiya revealed that at about 8pm on Friday, some gunmen attempted to attack a police division in Minjibir but were repelled by the officers on duty.
“They came on motor cycle and tricycle amidst gunshot on our policemen on duty but in the process one of them was shot dead.” He said.
Police officers on duty successfully arrested two of the suspects along with their ammunition.
“Also while they were running to safety, our team of police officers ambushed them and arrested two of them together with their AK47 rifles.” Mr. Majiya stated.
Majiya further confirmed that no police officer or civilian was caught in the cross fire even as he stated that investigation has already commenced in the area to apprehend their accomplices.
