Victims Of 2011 Post-Election Violence Compensated By KDSG

That is what describes the commencement of the  distribution of cheques by Kaduna state government to victims of the crisis that rocked the state following the announcement of President Goodluck Jonathan as winner of the 2011 presidential election.

Flagging off the distribution of cheques to the victims in the central senatorial zone of the state on Wednesday, Governor Muktar Ramalan Yero said the gesture was to cushion the suffering of the victims in line with the recommendation of the judicial commission of inquiry into the crisis.

According to the governor, the sum of N401, 200,000 was budgeted for distribution to the affected persons, churches and mosques.

While houses damaged during the crisis will receive the sum of N150000, Mosques and Churches will receive the sum of N100,000 each.

The post election violence in Kaduna state reportedly affected atotal number of 2,502 houses, 151 churches and 41 mosques.
