Lagos East Bye-Election: Police Restrict Movement, Call For Peaceful Conduct

The Lagos State Police Command has restricted movement in some parts of the state ahead of the bye-elections scheduled for Saturday, 5th December 2020.

The bye-elections are to fill the vacant seats in the Lagos East Senatorial District as well as Kosofe 11 Constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The restriction of movement will be in place between 6 am and 6 pm on Saturday, 5th December 2020 and only those on essential duties will be allowed to move.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu noted that both vehicular and pedestrian restrictions would be enforced in the affected Local Government Areas where elections will hold.

The restricted places are Somolu, Kosofe, Epe, Ikorodu, and Ibeju-Lekki local government areas.

He added that police personnel and other security agents will be on the ground to ensure there will be no breakdown of law and order.
