#EndSARS: “I Am Heartbroken To See Senseless Brutality Taking Place In Nigeria” – Beyoncé

American singer, Beyoncé has joined the growing list of celebrities agitating for an end to police brutality in Nigeria.

This comes after the unfortunate shooting of unarmed demonstrators at Lekki Tollgate, Lagos by security agents on Tuesday.

Information Nigeria recalls Tiwa Savage had called on the music icon to lend her voice to the ongoing #EndSARS protests in Nigeria.

Beyoncé released a statement via Instagram on Wednesday in which she said that she is heartbroken about the current state of Nigeria.

In her words;

“I am heartbroken to see the senseless brutality taking place in Nigeria.

There has to be an end to SARS.

We have been working on partnerships with youth organizations to support those protesting for change. We are collaborating with coalitions to provide emergency healthcare, food and shelter.

To our Nigerian sisters and brothers, we stand with you.
