Nigerian Embassy In Washington Suspends Passport Activities Over Coronavirus Outbreak

The Coronavirus outbreak in the United States has led the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC, the U.S. to temporarily halt passport interviews and biometric capture.

The Nigerian Embassy in Washington made this decision known on Saturday 14th of March and it is scheduled to take effect from Monday, 16th of March.

According to information made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the suspension is a precautionary measure to safeguard the health and well being of all passport applicants and staff.

The Embassy also revealed partial operations will continue, as Emergency Travel Certificates (ETC) will continue to be issued out to those who need to travel urgently via mail.
