Nigerians have taken to social media to express their displeasure at the members of the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) who went on a ‘thank you’ visit to President Muhammadu Buhari over the recent increase in their monthly allowance.

The federal government had increased the corps allowance from N19,000 to N33,000 to the pleasure of serving corps members.

In a tweet on February 6, the presidency had shared a video via Twitter of the visit and the speech of the corps member thanking Buhari.

The tweet said: President @MBuhari today received National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members on a thank you visit for the increase in their monthly Allowance. They were represented by Yinka Kolawole, Aisha Umar Bello, Agatha Nwakego and Tim Abasiandikan Udo. #AsoVillaToday

The video especially angered many Nigerians who felt it was unnecessary for the corps member to persistently use the term ‘Dear Daddy’ to address the president instead of ‘Mr President’ or ‘Your Excellency’
