Governor Abiodun Calls For Calm Over Murder Of Remo Stars Player By SARS Officer

The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun has urged residents of the state to remain calm and not resort to self-help in respect of the deceased Remo Star defender, Tiyamiyu Kazeem.

This is coming following the raging protest against the extra-judicial killing of the footballer by SARS in Sagamu while returning from training.

According to Remo FC which he played for, Tiamiyu Kazeem was stopped by the operatives while returning from training.

While he was being searched, the men pushed him against an oncoming vehicle which led to the loss of his life.

Reacting to this development, protesters took to the streets, storming the Palace of the Akarigbo and the Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, demanding justice for the deceased.

Responding to the protest, the Governor, while giving assurance that similar cases will be looked into, described the killing of the soccer star as unfortunate and urged players, management and supporters of Remo Stars Football Club, to remain calm, adding that the killers would be brought to justice.

Abiodun also assured that a proper, transparent and independent investigation would be launched into the incident to know what transpired with a view to bringing those responsible to justice.
