Leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Ibraheem Zakzaky‘s daughter, Suhaila says the group will continue its protests till her father is released. This was revealed by Suhaila in a video posted on Facebook, although an announcement by the President of the IMN media forum on Wednesday noted that the protests had been suspended. Reacting to the statement, Suhaila said: “Even as I speak right now, earlier today, there was a protest in Abuja and there will be tomorrow, and there will continue to be on every weekday.

Nigerian Man Dies Of Hunger In Ethiopian Prison

A Nigerian citizen from Delta state who was an inmate at the Kaliti Prisons in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia has died after an ailment. The deceased, identified as Odemu Efe, was reportedly among the about 150 Nigerian inmates at the prison in the country. The Nigerian inmates are being detained on allegations of possession of hard drugs and money laundering, and many of them have fallen ill due to malnourishment.

Suspected Cultist Dies After threatening Vandalising 17 Cars At Police Station

A Chinedu Obi, suspected to be a cultist has died after threatening to invade a police station with his gang members to kill officers who arrested him. Obi had drawn attention when he appeared in a one-minute 30 seconds video, lying helpless in his own pool blood at the police station. Obi reportedly died on July 20 of gunshot wounds he sustained, when police tried to refrain him from causing more havoc at the station.

Edo State Files Suit Stopping National Assembly From Taking Over State Assembly

The Edo state House of Assembly has filed a suit against the National Assembly stopping it from taking overits legislative activities. Mohammed Adamu, Inspector-general of police, and been instructed by the House of Representatives to shut the state assembly because of the crisis that brewed, following the inauguration of some lawmakers loyal to the governor. The Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, was also given a week ultimatum to issue a fresh proclamation for the inauguration of the state assembly, although he refused to follow the directive.

Father Slits Daughter’s Throat In Adamawa

A young girl, 8, is currently fighting for her life at a hospital in the Adamawa State capital, Yola after her father slit her throat with a kitchen knife, saying he just felt like doing so. Saidu Dan Iya, the girl’s father, who may be suffering psychologically due to prolonged drug abuse, when he was asked by neighbours why he slit his child’s throat, said that “he just felt like doing it.”
