Former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, who was attacked by members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) in Germany, on Monday explained why he was attacked. The lawmaker said this while speaking with journalists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, shortly after he arrived Nigeria.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday struck out an appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the last presidential election, Atiku Abubakar. The apex court in its ruling on the appeal marked SC/738/2019, filed against a ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), struck out the appeal for having become statute-barred.

Kidnap kingpin Hamisu Bala popularly known as Wadume who has made billions of Naira from the business of kidnapping has confessed that his escape was aided by soldiers after he was arrested by police detectives.
The police force had lost two of its best men after soldiers opened fire on the detectives attached to the special anti-kidnap squad of the Inspector General of Police, who were on a convert duty to arrest Wadume.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, the recapturing of Taraba notorious kidnap kingpin, Alhaji Hamisu Wadume by police detectives will bring answers to numerous unanswered questions. This was made known in a statement by Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Frank Mba, in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to police, Wadume who was first arrested on August 6, was re-arrested in the late hours of Monday in his hideout at Layin Mai Allo Hotoro area of Kano State.
Senator Elisha Abbo’s trial at the Zuba Chief Magistrates’ Court, in Abuja, has been adjourned due to his health issues. According to reports, the case was stalled after he failed to appear in court on Tuesday. His counsel, Adegbite Adeniyi, told the court that the Senator is ill and couldn’t make it to court. His counsel also presented a medical report to the court claiming the senator is on admission at a hospital in Yola state.
