Breaking!!! Lai Mohammed to appear before court over N2.5 billion fraud case

The Independent Corrupt Practice and other related offences Commission (ICPC) has asked former minister of Information and Culture, Mohammed, to appear before a federal high court in Abuja. This according to ICPC, is over a N2.5 billion fraud allegation case which involves the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

Well spoken my brother!!! Fani Kayode hails Wike for declaring Rivers a Christian state

So many critics have ‘attacked’ the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for declaring that the state is Christian one. The governor said this on Sunday while speaking during the Lord’s Chosen Crusade with the theme: “God has the power to do this or that” at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt.

Rivers abolishes UTME fees for both indigenes and non indigenes

The Governor of River state, Nyesom Wike has promised that the state will bear the financial burdens of all candidates  that will be writing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME) from 2020. The governor made this known in a statement on Thursday, adding that both indigenes and non-indigenes in the state will benefit from this.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said on Thursday that the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu should be apologising to Nigerians and not insulting their sensitivity. he opposition party said this while reacting to a comment by the INEC boss, describing the commission as the most improved public institution in Nigeria.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has called out Rivers state governor, Nyesom for declaring the state a Christian one. This was contained in a statement by Ishaq Akintola, director of the MURIC on Thursday.

A househelp identified as Joseph Ogbu was brought before an Ebute-Meta Magistrates Court in Lagos on Thursday after he stabbed his employer to death with a fork for failing to give him the N4, 000, he demanded for, two days after he was employed. The matter was brought before the court by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCIID), Yaba, Lagos.

FAAN releases list of prohibited items for passengers

To ensure the safety of passengers, the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has released a list of items which are not allowed on a plane nor allowed anywhere close to the airport.The list included items such as Guns and firearms, tools, sporting object, disabling chemicals etc.

#EndSARS: 'Protesters Are Not Here To Cause Chaos' - Shehu Sani

Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has expressed that the #EndSARS protesters demanding widespread police reform and good governance across the country are not chaos makers.

This is coming at a time when there have been reports of the government planning to deploy troops of the Nigerian military to control the situation which has heightened the tension in the country.

Reacting to the reports, the former lawmaker from Kaduna stated that the protesters are not mischief-makers as being reported in some quarters but rather people who want the chaos in the country to end.

BREAKING: Abuja #EndSARS Protesters Block Kuje, Airport Road

#EndSARS protesters

#EndSARS protesters have blocked the Kuje road leading to the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua expressway.

The protesters also blocked the Airport road, preventing motorists from the right of way.

Although it has been reported that Soldiers have blocked the initial venue of the planned #EndSARS protest in Abuja.

The military officers were stationed at the popular Aya roundabout early Monday morning, with a roadblock and barricade.

Also, police officers are stationed in front of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) headquarters with Armoured Personnel Carrier and water cannons.

The protesters gathered at the Kuje road and the Airport road to press home their demands.

#EndSARS protesters

The demand for widespread police reforms by #EndSARS protesters enters its 12th day and it doesn’t seem as if the protesting youths are backing out soon.

On Monday morning, the protesters stormed the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa and prevented workers from gaining access to the premises.

They blocked all the entrance to the Secretariat and motorists and pedestrians were turned back from coming out and going into the premises.

The Governor’s road had remained one of the major venues where the protesters gather every day with some even sleeping overnight to continue the protest the next day.
