U.S embassy fully operational

The United States Embassy says its office in Abuja and Consulate General Lagos, remain open for for all consular business, including visa interviews.

This was made known by the embassy, via their Twitter handle on Tuesday. It further urged people with regularly scheduled interview to attend.

However, on Monday, the embassy announced that it was putting its operation in hold, over the shutdown in the US.

“Due to the current U.S. government shutdown, the American Centers located in the Embassy, Abuja and Consulate General, Lagos are unfortunately closed,” it said in a Facebook post.

“They will re-open once the U.S. government shutdown is resolved. Sorry for any inconvenience to our valued patrons.”

On Tuesday, to the surprise of many, it announced that activities at the embassy remains the same.

U.S. Embassy Abuja and Consulate General Lagos remain open for for all consular business, including visa interviews. Please attend your regularly scheduled interview.
