God healed Buhari of his ailments to shame PDP in 2019 – Oshiomhole

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has declared that God would not allow the return of the opposition Peoples Democratic Power (PDP) to power in 2019.

Nation reports that he accused the former ruling party of looting the nation dry throughout its 16 years in power.

Oshiomhole said only President Muhammadu Buhari could salvage the country and return it to prosperity.

The APC helmsman spoke on Thursday, December 20, in Lafia, capital of Nasarawa state while flagging off the 2019 state wide campaign. He urged the people of Nasarawa state to vote massively for President Buhari and other APC candidates in the 2019 general elections.

He also presented the party’s flag to the governorship candidate, Engr Abdullahi Sule, and all other APC Senate, Reps and state Assembly candidates. He explained that God healed the President to shame the PDP, which he said wished him death.

Buhari, according to him, will win the 2019 general elections with landslide votes. He lauded the giant strides of Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura in the state and his policy of inclusiveness and urged the APC governorship candidate to follow the footsteps of the outgoing Al-Makura when elected.

He explained that he has painstakingly followed the developmental achievements of the governor in all sectors of the state and appealed to the people of Nasarawa south to reward Al-Makura by voting him to represent them at the Upper Chamber. Al-Makura urged the people of the state to return President Buhari in 2019 and all other APC candidates in the state. He said the President has done a lot for the state by providing 33 KVA electricity and award of contract for the dualisation of Keffi- Makurdi, Abuja road among many other achievements.

He thanked all the governorship aspirants of the party in the state for agreeing to work tirelessly for the victory of the party in the state.

Sule assured he will use his experience in the private sector to bring development to the state. He noted that he would continue from where Al-Makura stops and take the state to the next level, adding that he will hit the ground running immediately he take over from Al-Makura because he has already set the template.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, has said the Federal Government will do all it can to prevent medical doctors from leaving the country.

The minister stated this on Friday in Abuja after inspecting work on the new cancer centre at the National Hospital, Abuja.

Ehanire revealed that the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration will provide the necessary incentives to make migration unattractive for the doctors.

The Health Minister admitted that medical doctors leaving Nigeria to foreign countries has become a challenge.

He, therefore, pledged that the government will do everything possible to ensure that doctors will prefer to remain and work in the country.

Ehanire advised hospital management to spend wisely, properly maintain the facilities when completed, and seek alternative sources of funding.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has urged the Nigerian Media to stop praising public officials and giving them awards for favoritism but to hold them accountable.

Governor Wike gave the charge when the national leadership of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Port Harcourt yesterday.

The governor expressed that in time past, the Nigerian Press was a strong voice and conscience of the society, but wondered what has whittled down its powers.

“What I have seen of you is that you praise us and give us award because of relationship or friendship. That’s not the way it should be. Challenge us; the people in authority and we will sit up to our responsibilities. We will have no choice than to perform and serve the people, as it should be.

The governor stated that Nigeria is in a difficult period in its history and NGE cannot shy away from performing its duties without fear or favour.

He urged them to discharge their function and be sure that they are doing what is right always.

#EndSARS: Ogun Judicial Panel Receives 20 Petitions In Two Weeks

The Ogun State judicial panel to investigate cases of police brutality in the state has reportedly received 20 petitions in two weeks since inauguration.

This was made known by the Chairman of the Panel, Justice Solomon Olugbemi (retired) on Friday in Abeokuta.

According to a statement issued by the panel’s spokesman, Femi Osipitan, Justice Olugbemi assured the people of the state of transparency and openness by the panel.

He also stated that the panel’s maiden sitting would hold on November 5, adding that subsequent sessions would be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays by 10 am at the Magistrate Court 1, Isabo, Abeokuta.
