Spanish defender, Cesar Azpilicueta Tanco, has signed a new £150,000-a-week contract with Chelsea until 2022. The central defender joined Chelsea from French side, Marseille, in 2012, after spending four years with Osasuna in the Spanish La Liga.

The 29-year-old has notched up over 200 appearances for the blues since joining the London club. He was named Chelsea player of the year in the 2013/14 season. “Since I came, I felt the joy and responsibility to play for this club, these fans, and every time I go on the pitch, I try to do my best. Hopefully, there is a lot to come and we can keep Chelsea where it belongs.” Azpilicueta told Chelsea’s official website
