NDLEA RECOVERS 581 MILLION TRAMADOL TABLETS

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has recovered 241 million tramadol tablets in two days. The tablets were found in 11 containers, weighing 118 metric tonnes. They had earlier recovered seized 340 million tramadol tablets in 12 containers on Nov 15.

Jonah Achuma, Head of public affairs of the NDLEA, said they had gone to the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) based on the suspicion that they had the drugs. He added that the containers had been on their watch list since November 2017.

 

In his words:

“This brings to 581 million tramadol tablets uncovered within two days of the search. The search is still ongoing.”

 

Mr Achema added that there were 39 more containers that were lined up for search as the agency strongly suspected they contained illicit drugs and that the agency would not relent until the country is completely freed from Drug abuse and consumption.

Yul Edochie calls for Buhari's resignation

Popular actor turned politician, Yul Edochie, who had signified interest to contest the presidency in the forthcoming elections in 2019 has called for the resignation of President Buhari.

He made the call via his Twitter handle on Monday afternoon, October 19.

According to Yul, President Buhari was very vocal during the Goodluck Jonathan administration and called for the resignation of the former President on the basis of poor performance.

He opined that President Buhari has performed worse than Jonathan, therefore he should resign from office.
