Agents of the National Drugs and Law Enforcement Agency have arrested two men, identified as Mathew Onumba and Ojukwu Henry, who were disguised as policemen. They were conveying 50 bags of cannabis Sativa along Okpella-Okene. The fake policemen used a Toyota Hiace bus with stickers, siren and the emblem of the Nigeria police.
Edo state Commander, Mr Buba Wakawa, described the fake policemen as members of a drug syndicate specialized in smuggling cannabis from the South to North-West region of Nigeria. “The black bus (Toyota), with tainted glass, had a siren and police stickers at the front and rear to deceive unsuspecting members of the public as well as security personnel.” NDLEA boss said. He also praised the operatives for the effort they put into this operation.
