President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday, Friday 14th September, accepted the resignation of former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.
In the letter of resignation, Mrs Adeosun said she didn’t know her National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) certificate was fake.
Adeosun, who was called out some months ago over certificate forgery said most of her visits To Nigeria before she turned 34, were only holidays, Â and as such was unfamiliar with the NYSC process.
Nigerians prior to the release of the resignation letter were calling for her prosecution but things soon changed after they found out she didn’t know the certificate was fake.

If I were President Buhari, after reading the Kemi Adeosun letter & convinced it's genuine, I'll
1. Reject her resignation and retain her
2. Make the nation see reason how she was a victim of a corrupted system
3. Prosecute those whom she had trusted
4. Pardon her mistake— Dalhat. MD (@dsalahu) September 15, 2018

People get out of my mention. HM Kemi Adeosun said she did not know the certificate was fake. Investigation was completed, and it showed it was fake, and she did the right and honourable thing by resigning. That is what we know for sure.

Kemi Adeosun @nysc_ng issue speaks to a deeper challenge with our institutions. All cabinet Ministers are vetted by DSS. That the DSS missed such a basic check means our institutions Are Still Not Functioning as intended. I hope Govt has taken Notice & ensures institutions work!
