Senator Shehu Sani has dropped his two cents on the on going debate of ban of cell phones at polling units by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).
According to the lawmaker, it would be a difficult task for the electoral commission as Nigerians have a strong attachment to their phones.
Senator Sani while speaking via twitter on Wednesday said Nigerians are yet to abide to simple instructions like putting of their mobile phones in worship centres, Gas Stations and other sensitive places.
Therefore, the new polling unit instruction according to the Senator will be a hard nut to crack for INEC as Nigerians treat their phones as part of their body makeup.
He wrote:
Ban on the use of phones at worshiping places,Gas stations,Banking Halls has proven difficult to enforce;that of polling booths will be unenforceable.People treat phones as part of their anatomy & lives, that they can’t do without. We are at a point when many see it as a ‘shield’.
