What trekking 800m means to Buhari’s second term quest – Presidency

Garba Sheh, Senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media has said the president’s 800m trek today has proved two things.

The president’s media aide said this while tackling critics who often referred to the president’s old age as his inability to run for next year’s presidential election.

President Buhari had trekked 800m from a prayer ground to his residence to the admiration of his supporters. See what Mr Garba said about the president’s trek;

“I think there are two things here; one is to say that the president is responsive to the enormous support and commitment of his own people that had come out in their numbers to see him and he just decided that he couldn’t go on riding in a blacken vehicle and he came out and walked to the distance,” he said.

“The second thing, he is curious that these days, one or two people who are aspiring to be president are campaigning on their youthfulness and good health.

“I think the president has done one thing today – that the issue is not how old one is but how fit is he; how healthy is he. Now that the president has proven his fitness and well-being to continue in office is a settled matter

“I think that if people want to campaign against him they should do so on issue that are of significance to Nigerians. The President is fit, he is healthy; he is good to go.”

  1. I want to call attention of our president to what is really happening in our country. Today Fulani herdsmen attack again in guguwa via ragasa in kaduna state kill a pastor and took his wife away
    Can’t our president do something to this herdsmen issue? killing innocent people are you people are happy fighting each other with out looking for a way of stopping the killing God almighty is not happy with you people and will not be happy with you

    That’s not a good leading
