On Trump calling Buhari ‘lifeless’: Nigerians ask PDP to take a sit because it took side with Trump

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in statement on August 27th, said ‘the reports quoting the United States President, Donald Trump, describing President Muhammadu Buhari as “lifeless” has opened our nation to international ridicule and opprobrium.’

In the statement, the opposition party said Trump’s remark underscores the result that accompanies move by incompetent leader to seek international endorsement out of inferiority complex.

‘This embarrassment is a backlash a nation gets when incompetent leaders, out of inferiority complex and misgovernance, resort to jumping around the world, desperately shopping for endorsements from world leaders.

The PDP therefore asked president Buhari to take a cue from what was said about him by Trump and deliver his duties as president or accept that he has failed. They wrote:

We therefore charge Mr. President to take a cue from the comments ascribed to President Trump by settling down at home and discharge his responsibilities to Nigerians or humbly accept his failings.

The PDP also expressed worry as to how other world leaders view president Buhari, whom they claim has failed woefully.

Nigerians have expressed displeasure as to PDP’s stand in the matter. Many were of the view that the opposition party shouldn’t be celebrating an insult to Nigeria’s president. According to them, an insult to the president, is an insult to all Nigerians.
