Stylist Tolu Bally Accuses Uber Driver of Attempting to Kidnap & Stab her mother

Published

on

Just weeks after actress Dorcas Shola Fapson accused an Uber driver of rape and attempted kidnap, yet another prominent woman has stepped up to tell another horrifying experience at the hands of an Uber driver.

Posting on her Instagram yesterday, Bally narrated how the driver who picked her mother up from their residence in Lekki drove off-route, and as an altercation ensued between them, threatened to stab the older woman.

She said:

“I spoke to the Uber guy and he said he wants to go through the 4th roundabout to avoid traffic which doesn’t make sense seeing as there was no traffic. I asked him to bring my mum back home and he hung up the phone.

My mum called back, screaming that the guy isn’t listening to her and all. I asked her to put me on speaker phone since he has refused to speak with me and told him to let her come down from his car if he can’t bring her back home.

Please note at this point the guy has gone offline and we couldn’t trace them. I kept calling my mum’s phone who obviously was screaming and crying in the car; telling him to drop her or take her home.

At this point I knew something was wrong. So I left the studio and headed to the 4th roundabout, all this while I kept calling my mum but wasn’t picking, eventually she picked her calls and said the guy threatened to stab her and take her to an unknown destination no one would find her. I didn’t know what to do. I told my mum to stay on the phone so I can monitor them whilst driving to them.

All through they kept exchanging banters. My mum kept telling him my children will find me and all. I noticed we weren’t getting anywhere so I told mum to wind down the door glass and scream for help. She did as she was told and also grabbed him from the back with his t-shirt.

They got into a small traffic and passersby heard so he had to pull over. My mum at this point has lost all energy and was shaking. The witnesses seeing how rough and unkempt the Uber driver was, asked him for his ID. He acted like he was going to get it from the car and ran away. I was able to track them down and found out that the Uber guy, who picked my mum from my house, was different from the guy in the Uber app picture.”

Tolu Bally added that she went to file a formal complaint with Uber, but was displeased with their response. And so she went further to file a report with the police.

She said:

“I have reported to the police and my brother has tried to reach Uber but the response has been slow and doesn’t look like they understand the gravity of this offense. They only gave “12 Akinsanya Street” to the police as the location of the driver. But there are mass numbers of such address in Lagos. We cannot even trace the Guarantor’s address. This guy is still working with Uber, and they have not asked him to make himself available for interrogations.

I never believed the story of people using Uber for kidnapping till now that it happened to me. Please broadcast till we get these guys nabbed and get @ubernigeria @uber to do the right thing.”

BBNaija’s Khafi Issues Stern Warning To ‘Womb Watchers’

I love you dearly, Gedoni tells Khafi on her birthday

Khafi Kareem

Popular reality TV star, Khafi Kareem has issued a stern warning to her eagle-eyed womb watchers on social media.

The reality TV star is fed up of people leaving pregnancy comments on her post and she has decided to give them a piece of her mind.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Khafi shared a photo of herself along with the words;

“The way I’m looking at the next person who drops a pregnancy comment on my post. Continue reading if you don’t want to get BLOCKED. (I’m not joking).
I’ve ignored them for the longest now but according to the womb watchers on social media I have been pregnant for over a YEAR. So let me get this off my heart. Some people have flat stomachs naturally and some people have big stomachs naturally. The latter is ME. And when I’m on my period it is even BIGGER. I don’t owe anyone a flat stomach but still I try to suck in my belly in every single picture and sometimes I do it better than others. The worst is that even when I’m proud of my ‘sucking in skills’ on a particular picture there is always SOMEONE who still comments something about pregnancy. This is a habit that HAS TO STOP.

First of all, women are more than baby making machines. A woman’s fertility or decision to start a family is for her to decide, not for you to comment on in every single picture… Must our stomachs always be the first thing you look at??

Secondly, I’m not just speaking up for myself but for women in general. You may mean well when making pregnancy remarks but it is not always a compliment. For women who have had miscarriages, have been trying unsuccessfully for a baby, or simply conscious about their weight it can be very distressing, triggering and also puts a lot of undue pressure on them. So unless someone has announced a pregnancy or told you then please be nice and DONT COMMENT OR CONGRATULATE them on one.

Trust me when the time is right I welcome pregnancy (twins please Lord!) and starting a family at God’s time. But until I’ve said I’m expecting please stop with the pregnancy comments. I’ll have no patience for them anymore and any one who writes such comments will get BLOCKED.

To those who mean well, thank you so much, I do love you all But to the amebos please be amebos elsewhere It’s pressure enough being a woman, so let’s not add to it. Happy Sunday.”
