Actress, Osas Ighodaro Ajibade, Her Career And Biography

Osas Ighodaro Ajibade is a Nigerian American actress, host and humanitarian who is well known for her role in the popular Tv series, Tinsel.

Early Life And Education

Osariemen Martha Elizabeth Ighodaro was born on the 26th of October in Bronx, New York, United States, to Nigerian parents from Edo State. She obtained her first degree in broadcast journalism with dual minors in entrepreneurship and theater from Pennsylvania State University. She further obtained a master’s degree in fine arts from the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University.

Career

In 2010, she won the Miss Black USA pageant where she represented Connecticut. As a beauty queen, Osas focused on heart disease which was a serious woman-killer in the state she represented. After her reign, she continued with her acting career and was involved in Hollywood movies like Cadillac Records, Migrations: The Collector and Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns.

She moved to Nigeria in 2012 with plans to spend just six months and return to the United States; she however got other jobs, along with Tinsel and hasn’t moved back since then. She also landed a job as host of the Maltina Dance All reality show. She has since stared in many movies including The Department, Where Children Play and The Department.

Personal Life

Osas met Gbenro Ajibade on set of Tinsel and a relationship blossomed. In 2014, the couple got engaged during a vacation in New York. They got married on July 4, 2015 in New York two weeks after their traditional wedding in Benin and are currently blessed with a daughter.

Achievements

She won the Miss Black USA Pageant in 2010 and founded The Joyful Joy Foundation, raising funds and awareness towards the fight against Malaria.

She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

Awards

She won Best TV Actress of the Year at the 2014 ELOY Award

She also won the award for Brand Ambassador of the Year at the 2015 edition of ELOY Awards.

Nigerian singer, Douglas Jack Agu alias Runtown, has labelled people making jokes about running away from Nigeria ‘stupid’, adding that they have lost their minds.

The singer is obviously not pleased with Nigerians who have chosen to react to the President’s national address by saying they are planning to travel to another country.

The musician also stated that the protest against bad governance and police brutality is far from over. Taking to his Twitter page, he tweets:

“Anyone making memes and jokes about running is stupid and lost their damn minds!!!”

Popular Nigerian artist, Damini Ogulu alias Burna Boy, has revealed that he has not slept since the day of the Lekki Tollgate massacre that claimed lives and left others injured.

The award winning musician took to his Twitter page to disclose that the incident has left him traumatized ever since. He added that he has witnessed many deaths in his life but Tuesday’s massacre is one that still keeps him up at night.
