Oyo State: Commissioner for Special Duties relieved off duties

There are indications from Oyo State, that Governor Abiola Ajimobi, has relieved his Commissioner for Special Duties, Mudathir Abdulganiyu, of his appointment.

Though there was no official statement by the government on the development as of the time of filing this report, Abdulganiyu on his Facebook page gave the hint, while thanking those who supported him during the brief period he served the government.

A source also said that the governor sacked Abdulganiyu on Tuesday. He was appointed as a commissioner in June 2016.

The former editor with the Nigerian Tribunedid not disclose reason for his removal.

However, some of those who commented on the post congratulated him for giving his best while in service.

An aide of the Minister of Communications, Adebayor Shittu, Victor Oluwadamilare, was one of those who responded to the former commissioner’s post.

A source in the government told our correspondent that there had been apprehension among the commissioners of a possible cabinet reshuffle by the governor.

According to him, Abdulganiyu’s sacking could be the beginning of the reshuffling.
