Armed Robbers Stab Federal Poly Student

A student of the Federal Polytechnic, Kogi state has lost his life in controversial circumstance after armed robbers attacked his hostel.
The management of the Federal Polytechnic Idah, Kogi State, has closed down the school following the confusion that trailed the killing of one of its students by suspected robbers, according to a report by The Punch.
The HND II Computer Science student of the polytechnic student identified as Gabriel Adikwu was on Saturday night stabbed to death in his lodge by robbers.
Adikwu, who is an indigene of Otukpa in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State was killed when the robbers stormed his apartment at Chelsea Lodge at about 9pm.
Following the killing, there were mounting tensions in the institution as some students protested over the incident and damaged polytechnic’s clinic facilities.
When contacted, Personal Assistant to the Rector of the Polytechnic, Simon Omale, who confirmed the incident, said the management of the polytechnic has closed down the institution until August 6 for the situation to calm down.
Omale, who expressed sadness over the tragic death of the student said his remains had been taken home for burial.
