Following accusations of mismanagement and earning salary of N12 million, the Emir of Kano has made public what he earned as salary in April.
Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has posted details of his salary for April 2017 on social media. The details of the Emir’s salary was released on Tuesday morning via verified Instagram account.
The details revealed by the Emir showed that he earned N1,312,500 with a PAYE deduction of N62,625 in the month of April. The royal father was paid N1,246,875 as salary after the deductions.
He had been accused of earning around N12m according to online reports. The Emir has also been accused of shortchanging the government as money for tax deducted from his salary was not commiserate with the salary he earned.
“Pay slip… it is 1,246,875.00 net, against the alleged 12million monthly by some online publications.
“Although during the colonial times, the Emir of Kano was the highest paid public office holder in Nigeria.” the Emir wrote.
