Veteran actor, Ola Omonitan, popularly called Ajimajasan, has stayed behind the scene for many years.
Apart from the fact that uncertainties in the entertainment world affected him in the 1990s, he suffered prostrate cancer, which he, however, survived after a major surgery.
While he has yet to really launch back to reckoning, he currently has a story to tell: the passage of his mother a few days ago.
According to the actor who was most popular for the comic roles he played in various TV dramas in the 1980s, the late Mrs. Oluwakorede Omonitan died at the age of 107.
Saying the funeral programme will hold between April 20 and 21 in Ibadan, Oyo State, Ajimajasan says, in an interview with our correspondent, “I will be 80 years old in December. So, I am happy that God gave my mother the grace of a long life. Yet, I am going to miss her. I will miss the motherly role she always played. She never ceased to counsel all members of the family and even neighbours.
“Mama was a good Christian and she always invited everyone to Christ. She was blessed with strength and good health. Until her death, she could still read the Bible without using glasses.”
