Buhari Orders Probe Into Death Of 3 NYSC Members

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday ordered independent investigation of the death of three National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, who died in three different states during the ongoing Batch ‘B’ 2016 Orientation Camp.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the probe is to unravel the circumstances leading to the deaths of the three young graduates.

 

The President who commiserated with the families of the deceased described their demise as “shocking, sad and unfortunate,” noting that they died in the course of answering the national call to serve.

He urged the families, friends and associates of the deceased to be consoled by the knowledge that their loved ones paid the supreme price while on national service and not for ignoble reasons.

President Buhari also extended condolences to the Director-General and Management of the NYSC over the transition of the youth corps members, Chinyerum Nwenenda Elechi, Ifedolapo Oladepo and Monday Asuquo Ukeme, in Bayelsa, Kano and Zamfara States respectively.

While enjoining the Management to do all within its powers to protect the lives of those under its charge, the President called on parents and guardians of current and potential NYSC participants not to panic over the recent tragic deaths.

He prayed that God will grant the souls of the departed youths eternal rest.

She made this remark in reaction to President Buhari’s statement that he is hurt following the beheading of 43 farmers in Borno by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect on Saturday.

Boko Haram: Insecurity In Nigeria Has Reached Breaking Point Says Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has expressed that the insecurity in Nigeria has reached a breaking point.

He made this remark in reaction to the reported beheading of 43 farmers in Borno by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect on Saturday.

In a post on his Twitter page, Omokri condemned the gruesome killing of the farmers by the insurgent group.

Buhari Mourns As Boko Haram Kills Over 40 Borno Farmers

President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the reported slaughter of over 40 Borno farmers by the terrorist group, Boko Haram.

He expressed grief over the killing of farmers on rice fields at Zabarmari, in Jere Local Government of Borno State, describing the terrorist killings as insane.

Buhari’s position on the killings was contained in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, titled, ‘President Buhari condemns as insane, Boko Haram killing of farmers in Borno State.’

He said: “I condemn the killing of our hardworking farmers by terrorists in Borno State. The entire country is hurt by these senseless killings. My thoughts are with their families in this time of grief. May their souls Rest In Peace.”

President Buhari said the government had given all the needed support to the armed forces “to take all necessary steps to protect the country’s population and its territory.”
