Ashley Williams Secures Everton Victory Over Arsenal

Ashley Williams late goal was a kick in the teeth for Arsenal as they fell to a late 2-1 defeat on Tuesday night to Everton. Arsenal opened the scoring through Alexis Sánchez whose effort was deleted into the nets.

It seemed as though it would be just another routine win for Arsenal against Everton who lost 3-2 to Watford on Sunday. Instead, Seamus Coleman equalized just a few minutes later.

The absence of Mustafi and Koscielny were probably Arsenal’s biggest concerns as they conceded two headed goals. One of the goals was from Coleman, who was one of the shortest players on the pitch.

Wenger admitted his team’s defensive frailties after the match.

You can’t defend away from home on a corner like that,”  “I don’t think, with five to go, we deserved to lose the game, but we were caught on two headers. I think especially on the first one we were guilty.

“It was a very physical game. We faced many physical challenges and that disturbed our game but we were a bit unlucky to lose as well.”
