In its ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and national assets, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) said it has included the railway tracks on the Abuja-Kaduna highway as parts of its extended aerial patrol and surveillance.
This was made known in a statement made available by NAF Public Relations Officer, Ayodele Famuyiwa. According to him, the move became necessary due to the security situation in the region and the usual increase in the rate of crime at this time of the year.
The NAF in August 2016 commenced extensive aerial patrol of Abuja-Kaduna highway, including Abuja metropolis, Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road, Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road, Falgore Forest as well as Minna and environs.
It is meant to checkmate criminal activities such as armed robbery, cattle rustling and kidnapping that is on the increase in the region.
