American actor, director, and screenwriter Keo Woolford has passed away.
According to a family spokesperson, he suffered a severe stroke on Friday and died Monday afternoon.
Many likely recognise Woolford as Detective Chang on “Hawaii 5-0,” but he was also known for his work behind in the camera.
His acting credits also include Godzilla.
He wrote and directed “The Haumana,” an independent film focused on hula and Hawaiian culture. It went on to gain international acclaim.
Woolford was working on a sequel to The Haumana when he died.
The film closed the 2013 Hawaii International Film Festival, and he was awarded a special jury prize at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival for Best First Feature.
