Genevieve Nnaji, Wole Soyinka, Iyanya, Paul Adefarasin, Mo Abudu, Simi, and All You Missed at ArtXwith7UP

The biggest contemporary art exhibition kicked off on Friday, November 4 at the Civic Centre with notable guests such as new Mavin Records signee, Iyanya, Head Pastor of House on the Rock, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, politician and businessman, Jimi Agbaje, media mogul, Mo Abudu, Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji, musician and art head, Ade Bantu, Founder/CEO, Nike art Gallery, Chief (Mrs.) Nike Okundaye and more.

 

Nigerian artist, Wura Natasha Ogunji took the exhibition room by surprise when she suddenly began performing a contemporary art piece by tying threads and twines round her face in an awfully tight manner.

The second day of the exhibition was packed with activities as the first day – if not more. Day 2 of the event on Saturday, 5th November, 2016 saw tons of art lovers turn out ready to play as they tried their hands at a fun wall painting to show that there’s indeed an artist in everyone.

Guests at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island venue also got the opportunity to see and interact with some artists like Stacey Okparavero and Yadichinma Kalu as they worked their magic live.

Then there was “The Talks” segment, which saw collectors like Ifeoma Fafunwatalk about their passion for investing in and collecting art.

Some of the notable guests on the second day included Afropolitan Vibes’ founder, Ade Bantu; media girl, Taje Prest; Professor Alex Ekwueme amongst several others.

 

The event was rounded off on an incredible note with musicians Simi, Falana, Poe, Vector and Syndik8 prolific music producer, Ikon creating new music live, while being inspired by 4 young artists – Stacey Okparavero, Olatunde Alara, Yadichinma Kalu and Dricky Stickman.

The 3-day contemporary art exhibition ended with Founder of Art X Lagos, Tokini Peterside expressing gratitude to guests and sponsors including 7UP Nigeria who contributed to making the maiden edition of the art fair a huge success.
