A certain Adeleke Oyadara, a bricklayer by profession, has been tortured to death in Kujore, Iwelepe, in the Sagamu area of Ogun State, for alleged robbery.

It was gathered that a business woman, whose identity was given only as Bolanle, had accused the deceased of robbing her on September 10.

Bolanle allegedly stormed Adeleke’s house with some hoodlums the next day around 8pm, and they beat the man to a pulp.

After beating him to the state of coma, they bundled the 50-year-old man into a truck they brought.

Punch reports that on the way, the group was intercepted by some vigilante group members, who took the case to the Sagamu Police Division.

The victim was said to have been referred to a hospital, and died a few weeks later.

The victim’s wife, Toyin, said her husband was taken away from the house around 8pm on September 11.
She said, “On that day, a man knocked on our door around 8pm. Suddenly, a woman, who had hid behind him, emerged, and held my husband by the waist.

“She claimed that my husband robbed her in a cab the previous day. My husband denied it and my attempt to explain that my husband was with me throughout that day fell on deaf ears.

“The man slapped my husband. They dragged him to where they parked their truck and five hoodlums came down and beat him to a pulp and drove off with him.”

One of the victim’s children, Emmanuel, said he reported at the Sagamu Police Division, adding that he was writing his report when the group brought his father to the station.
“The police referred us to a hospital for treatment,” he added.

The son said he was later taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital.

“While on admission, the woman wrote a petition to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Eleweran.

The policemen there demanded that we brought my father from the hospital because they thought he was pretending.

“He was at the SCIID when he collapsed and we took him back to the hospital. He died on Saturday, October 15,” he added.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said it was a case of suspected robbery turned murder.

He said, “From the information available to us, the victim was a cab driver and he was taking the woman to a place. He overheard her discussing about a N1m contract on the telephone. So, he thought she had that money on her.

“He drove into a bush and threatened her with pliers. He searched her bag and found N50,000, which he took and fled.

“The woman raised the alarm and people gathered around her. She told them what happened and described the cab. Those people traced it to the man’s house where he was found and beaten. He was rescued by the police.

“The case was reported as robbery and was transferred to the SCIID. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he died. It has now become a murder case. The woman’s lawyer has been shielding her from arrest, but investigation is ongoing into the case.”

Self-acclaimed Port Harcourt First Son, Duncan Mighty is currently trending on social media for the wrong reasons.

A water tank driver, Okabam John has accused singer, Duncan Mighty of assaulting him in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

It was gathered that the incident reportedly happened on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at about 9:40am when the driver was on duty.

Narrating his ordeal to some Civil Rights Activists on Tuesday November 24, after he was allegedly discharged from the hospital, John, a native of Elele Town in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state and an employee of Julius Berger Nigeria Limited, claimed that the musician struck him on the head with a traditional staff made of elephant tusk.

According to the driver, while on duty a private car was parked close to his water filling spot. He tried notifying the driver who refused to wind down. He reportedly bent his head to talk to the driver only to discover it was Duncan Mighty.

John said that before he could speak, the singer allegedly struck his head using a traditional staff. He said the second strike was blocked with his hand. He claimed that he could not see when the singer drove off as his eyes were covered with blood.

Confirming the incident on Tuesday, one Ndubueze Obodowhuo, accused Duncan Mighty of using his VIP status to intimidate his people. He also shared a ‘medical report’ stating that John was treated for “shoulder dislocation and scalp laceration.”

Mr John is now calling on his employer, the management of Julius Berger, Security Agencies and Human Rights Organisations to help him get justice. His post below:

“This is Mr. OKABAM JOHN a native of Elele town in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers State, he’s currently employed by JULIUS BERGER NIG.PLC in Port Harcourt and his service engagement is within Judges quarters elelenwo-street, GRA Port Harcourt.

“According to Mr. OKABAM JOHN a Water-tank driver with Julius Berger, Tanker number – B8751, On Saturday 21st of November 2020 at about 9:40am while he was on duty.
