Marcus Rashford is set to become one of the highest paid teenage footballers in the world as Manchester United are ready to offer the starlet a new bumper deal.
According to the Sun, the 18-year-old will receive a pay hike to the £50,000-a-week wage level, on par with Bayern Munich’s star youngster Renato Sanches but slightly lower than Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho.
Although Rashford penned a new deal with the club that would see him remain at Old Trafford until 2020 in May earlier this year, the Red Devils appear keen to avoid a repeat of the expensive mistake they made when allowing Paul Pogba to leave the club in 2012.
The Frenchman left Manchester on a free transfer four years ago, before the club made a world record transfer bid in order to bring him back ‘home’.
Keen to ensure Rashford’s contract does not run into its final 18 months, the Red Devils are eager to put the matter to bed.
