“Joining Liverpool Was The Worst Mistake Of My Life”- Balotelli

Italian striker, Mario Balotelli was once regarded as one of the hottest prospects in world football. With successful stints at Manchester City and AC Milan, it wasn’t hard to see why.

His antics off the pitch also enhanced his reputation as a reckless playboy who was adept at making the front pages.

However, it all came crashing with a £16 million move to Premier League club, Liverpool where he scored just one goal in the Premier League and was soon relegated to the bench.

New manager, Jurgen Klopp made no bones about not wanting Mario and attempted to sell him but no one was interested! Just a few days before the transfer window slammed shut, he made a loan move to French club, OGC Nice and is now back in the news.

In his debut match, Balotelli scored a brace to help Nice to a derby win over Marseille and in his post match press conference quickly lashed out at Liverpool.

Asked by reporters what went wrong with his career, Balotelli said, ‘I joined Liverpool, it was the worst mistake of my life. Apart from the fans who were fantastic with me, I must be honest, and the players who I had a good rapport with, I didn’t like the club’.

Let’s hope he keeps finding the back of the net at Nice!
