Akwa ibom Vigilante Group of Nigeria

The Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Akwa Ibom State command has appealed to the state commissioner of Police, Mr. Murtala Mani to use his position to facilitate immediate release of two Pick-up trucks donated by the immediate past Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase to the group.

The group commandant, Commander Michael Dickson, on Tuesday made the call in Uyo during the closing ceremony of a five day basic and intelligence training for officers and men of the group.

Dickson said: “the former Inspector general of police, Solomon Arase had on April 13, 2016 during his official visit to the state promised the vigilante two hilux pick up vehicles, and the vehicles were promptly delivered to the state command of the Nigeria Police Force, which the Commissioner promised to release the vehicles for the Vigilante used after their training course.”

“I wish to extend my profound appreciation to the Federal Government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Muhamadu Buhari for waking up the sleeping giants in the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN by sending an executive bill establishing the group to the National Assembly for deliberation and passage.”
The training was organised by the Nigeria Police Force in collaboration with Osjones international services, a security consortium in the country.
