Arsene Wenger will celebrate 20 years in charge of Arsenal and there was perhaps no better pre-anniversary gift than a 3-0 thumping of Chelsea on Saturday.
The Gunners were incisive in attack and were tight at the back. Here are three things we learned from the encounter
Mustafi And Koscielny Are Perfect Together
Arsenal’s new signing Skhrodan Mustafi has taken to the Premier League like a duck to the water and alongside Koscielny, they just might be the best defensive pairing in the league.
The pair hassled Diego Costa and barely allowed him a sniff at goal. it was a command performance.
Cahill Is A Defensive Nightmare
Chelsea are struggling this season and most of their woes are at the back where Gary Cahill won’t stop making mistakes. His backpass which was stolen by Sanchez provided the first goal and he remained lost at sea throughout the match. There’s really no reason why Cahill should be starting.
Iwobi Has The Stuff
Iwobi might be young but there’s little doubt there’s a lot to come from the youngster. He was named Man of the Match and Wenger will be hoping he can keep up his form.
